Job Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Service Manager to lead our service department in the construction equipment industry. The Service Manager will be responsible for overseeing all service operations, ensuring high-quality repairs and maintenance, managing a team of technicians, and delivering exceptional customer service. This role is crucial in maintaining equipment performance, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and train service technicians to ensure high standards of performance and safety.
- Operations Management: Oversee day-to-day service operations, including scheduling, workflow management, and resource allocation.
- Customer Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, addressing concerns and ensuring satisfaction with service and repairs.
- Quality Control: Implement and monitor service quality standards, ensuring all repairs meet industry and company specifications.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage the service department budget, monitoring expenses and maximizing profitability.
- Inventory Management: Collaborate with the parts department to ensure adequate stock levels of necessary components for repairs.
- Performance Reporting: Analyze service department performance metrics, generating reports to identify trends, areas for improvement, and success stories.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancements and implement best practices to improve service efficiency and customer experience.
- Compliance: Ensure all service operations comply with safety regulations and company policies.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: 4+ years of experience in service management or a similar role within the construction equipment or heavy machinery industry.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficient in service management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with construction equipment, maintenance practices, and industry standards.
