Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Indian Chef to prepare authentic Indian cuisine while maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate should have expertise in Indian cooking techniques, spices, and regional specialties, with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of Indian dishes, including curries, gravies, appetizers, breads, rice dishes, and regional specialties.
- Ensure consistency in taste, quality, and presentation of all menu items.
- Manage food preparation and cooking activities according to restaurant standards.
- Monitor ingredient freshness and maintain proper food storage procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen.
- Control food costs, portion sizes, and minimize wastage.
- Assist in menu planning and development of new dishes and seasonal specials.
- Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during operating hours.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
- Train and guide junior kitchen staff when required.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Indian Chef in a restaurant, hotel, catering company, or similar establishment.
- Strong knowledge of Indian cuisine, ingredients, spices, and cooking techniques.
- Ability to prepare North Indian, South Indian, or regional Indian dishes (as required).
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
- Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Culinary diploma or professional chef certification.
- Experience in multi-cuisine or fine-dining restaurants.
- Expertise in tandoor, curry section, or regional Indian specialties.
