Key Responsibilities1. Patient Care Management
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for critically ill patients.
- Monitor and record vital signs, neurological status, hemodynamic parameters, oxygen saturation, and other clinical indicators.
- Provide bedside nursing care as per physician orders and nursing protocols.
- Assist in the management of ventilated and critically ill patients.
- Maintain accurate intake-output charts and fluid balance records.
- Observe patients for any deterioration in condition and immediately report to the concerned physician.
2. Medication Administration
- Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and injections as prescribed.
- Ensure adherence to the "Five Rights" of medication administration.
- Monitor patients for adverse drug reactions and document accordingly.
- Maintain narcotic and high-alert medication records as per hospital policy.
3. Critical Care Procedures
- Assist physicians during emergency and critical care procedures.
- Manage equipment such as ventilators, syringe pumps, infusion pumps, cardiac monitors, defibrillators, and suction apparatus.
- Assist in intubation, central line insertion, arterial line insertion, and other ICU procedures.
- Participate in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and emergency response activities.
4. Infection Prevention and Control
- Follow standard precautions and infection control guidelines.
- Ensure proper hand hygiene practices.
- Adhere to biomedical waste segregation and disposal protocols.
- Maintain aseptic techniques during all procedures.
- Prevent healthcare-associated infections through compliance with ICU care bundles.
5. Documentation and Records
- Maintain accurate and timely nursing records.
- Document assessments, nursing interventions, medication administration, and patient responses.
- Prepare reports during shift handover.
- Ensure confidentiality of patient information.
6. Communication and Coordination
- Communicate effectively with doctors, nursing supervisors, patients, and relatives.
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and discussions.
- Provide patient and family education regarding treatment and care plans.
- Ensure smooth handover during shift changes.
7. Equipment and Inventory Management
- Check ICU equipment daily for proper functioning.
- Report equipment malfunction immediately.
- Maintain adequate stock of emergency drugs, consumables, and supplies.
- Ensure crash cart readiness at all times.
8. Quality and NABH Compliance
- Follow NABH standards, hospital policies, and nursing protocols.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits.
- Attend mandatory training programs, CMEs, and nursing education sessions.
- Report adverse events, incidents, and near misses as per hospital policy.
9. Patient Safety
- Ensure correct patient identification before administering treatment.
- Implement fall prevention and pressure ulcer prevention measures.
- Follow patient safety goals and risk management protocols.
- Ensure safe transportation of critically ill patients within the hospital.
Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
