Key Responsibilities Production Planning and Execution
- Develop and implement production plans in line with sales forecasts and project delivery schedules.
- Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly production activities to ensure timely completion of orders.
- Optimize manpower, machinery, and material utilization to maximize productivity.
- Coordinate with the Planning department to prioritize production activities based on customer commitments.
- Ensure adherence to production schedules and delivery timelines.
Manufacturing Operations Management
- Oversee all manufacturing functions including fabrication, machining, assembly, finishing, testing, and dispatch.
- Ensure efficient workflow and eliminate production bottlenecks.
- Monitor shop floor performance and implement corrective actions to improve output.
- Establish and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for manufacturing activities.
- Drive process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce cycle time.
Quality and Compliance
- Ensure manufactured machines comply with approved specifications, customer requirements, and quality standards.
- Coordinate with the Quality Assurance team to address quality concerns and implement preventive measures.
- Promote adherence to GMP principles applicable to pharmaceutical equipment manufacturing.
- Minimize rework, rejection rates, and customer complaints through robust quality practices.
Team Leadership and Development
- Lead, mentor, and supervise production managers, supervisors, engineers, and shop floor personnel.
- Set departmental goals and performance expectations.
- Conduct performance reviews and identify training and development needs.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, discipline, and continuous improvement.
- Build succession plans for key production roles.
Inventory and Resource Management
- Coordinate with Procurement and Stores to ensure the timely availability of raw materials and components.
- Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages and excess stock.
- Optimize utilization of production equipment and facilities.
- Ensure preventive maintenance schedules are followed to minimize downtime.
Cost Control and Productivity Improvement
- Monitor manufacturing costs and implement initiatives to improve profitability.
- Identify opportunities for waste reduction and process optimization.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, and other productivity improvement initiatives.
- Track production efficiency and take actions to improve operational performance.
Health, Safety, and Environment
- Ensure strict compliance with workplace health and safety regulations.
- Promote safe working practices across all manufacturing areas.
- Conduct periodic safety reviews and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Collaborate with Design, Sales, Projects, Purchase, Quality, and Service departments to ensure seamless execution of customer orders.
- Participate in production review meetings and provide updates to senior management.
- Support installation and commissioning teams by resolving production-related technical issues.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
- Master's Degree in Operations Management or Business Administration will be an added advantage.
- Minimum 12–15 years of experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Prior experience in pharmaceutical machinery, packaging machinery, process equipment, or capital equipment manufacturing is preferred.
- Strong understanding of fabrication, machining, assembly, and testing processes.
Technical Skills
- Expertise in production planning and control.
- Sound knowledge of fabrication and machine assembly processes.
- Understanding of GMP requirements related to pharmaceutical equipment manufacturing.
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Familiarity with quality systems, root cause analysis, and CAPA implementation.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications.

Working Conditions
- Primarily based within the manufacturing facility.

- Occasional travel may be required for vendor development, customer visits, or project reviews.
