Job Title: Infrastructure & DevOps Engineer
Location: Hybrid
Full-Time | Contract: 12 months (possible extensions or path to permanent)
About the Role:
Our client is a multi-entity technology group operating a regulated SaaS platform across Singapore and India. This role sits within the group's India based infrastructure and hosting services function, which provisions and operates the cloud hosting substrate as a managed service to the group's product engineering company and its India operating company. You will own the infrastructure beneath the platform - not the application itself - run it to enterprise reliability and security standards and help shape the group's forward cloud strategy.
Environment and remit:
- The current estate (dev, QA, test and demo environments) runs on a low-cost cloud setup (DigitalOcean). The near-term posture is to keep and maintain this on cost grounds.
- A core early deliverable is to assess the current environment and recommend whether to retain and improve it, or shift to an alternative - public, private or hybrid - based on cost, scale, residency and reliability needs. No migration is assumed; the assessment drives the decision.
- Production and pre-production are to be designed and stood up on the cloud platform(s) the assessment supports, with data residency respected: core platform hosting in Singapore and the India market tenant provisioned in-region in India.
- Software engineering is performed in India by India-based developers allowing for close, same time zone collaboration with the engineering team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cloud strategy and assessment: evaluate the current estate and target options across providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and deployment models (public, private, hybrid); recommend and document the forward architecture.
- Cloud hosting and topology: operate multi-region landing zones - load balancers, auto scaling, CDN, WAF, network isolation (VPC/VNet), security groups, ingress/egress control with region aware provisioning to meet residency requirements.
- Environment lifecycle: maintain and improve non-production environments; design and stand up pre-production and production with consistent, reproducible configuration.
- Infrastructure automation and DevOps: infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes), blue-green and auto-healing deployment patterns, delivered as a managed service for the engineering teams.
- Identity and access: manage cloud identity and access across providers (e.g. Azure AD / Entra ID, AWS IAM, GCP IAM), secrets management and least-privilege controls.
- Reliability and continuity: hold the platform to a 99.99% uptime target with health checks and monitoring; maintain disaster recovery with RTO under 15 minutes, automated failover and tested recovery runbooks.
- Database infrastructure support: replication and failover, point-in-time recovery, geo-redundancy and backup regimes at the infrastructure layer.
- Infrastructure layer security: network isolation, IP allow listing, secrets management, SIEM log streaming for corporate scope systems, patching and hardening.
- Service interface and cost: maintain clean service demarcation, capacity and cost reporting per client entity, and support billing and vendor-governance interfaces.
Who you'll work with. This role works closely with the group's product and architecture functions, the platform development team, and the India operating company's in house data and product team.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Hands-on multi-cloud infrastructure engineering at production scale across at least two of AWS, Azure and GCP; comfortable with public, private and hybrid models.
- Demonstrable experience assessing and, where warranted, migrating workloads between cloud providers.
- Strong DevOps toolchain: infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or equivalent), CI/CD, container orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Cloud identity and access management across providers; networking and cloud security posture.
- Observability, monitoring and incident response; disaster-recovery design and testing.
- Comfortable in a multi-tenant, multi-region, multi-client managed-services context with strict data-segregation discipline.
Compliance. Works within India DPDP data localisation expectations, CERT-In incident reporting and log retention requirements, and the group's information security policy. Familiarity with SOC 2 and ISO/IEC 27001 control environments is expected.
Success measures. A documented, well-reasoned cloud strategy assessment; uptime against the 99.99% target; DR drills meeting the sub-15-minute RTO; region correct tenant provisioning; clean infrastructure security posture; accurate per client service and cost reporting; and full integrity of the data segregation and service boundaries.
