CoPlay Porvorim Gymkhana is our flagship government-partnership venue in Goa — a full-scale multi-sport complex operated under a tender from the state government. The facility includes 3 swimming pools, badminton courts, a gym, squash courts, football ground, pickleball courts, cricket nets, hockey turf, a banquet hall, and a restaurant. This is one of CoPlay's most complex and prestigious sites.
The General Manager is the on-ground commander for the entire Porvorim Gymkhana complex. You own everything — the facility runs because of you. From ensuring the pools are clean at 6 AM to closing the books at the end of the month, you are accountable for operations, people, revenue, and the experience delivered to every member and guest who walks through the gates.
This is not a desk job. It calls for someone who is respected in the Goa community, fluent in the local language and culture, and experienced in running large, multi-function facilities where no two days look the same.

Oversee day-to-day operations across all sports, utilities, housekeeping, and security

Ensure all infrastructure — pools, courts, turf, gym, electrical, plumbing — is maintained to standard

Manage AMCs, vendor contracts, and preventive maintenance schedules

Handle emergency breakdowns and coordinate repairs with approved vendors
-
Liaise with government representatives for major structural repairs, approvals, and compliance requirements under the tender

Recruit, onboard, and manage the full on-site team: housekeeping, security, reception, groundsmen, and sport-specific staff

Define shift rosters, attendance, and performance review cadence

Build and manage a network of coaching partners for each sport (swimming, badminton, squash, football, cricket, hockey, pickleball, gym)

Foster a culture of discipline, hospitality, and pride in the facility

Drive membership sales across resident and non-resident categories for all sports and the facility overall

Own monthly revenue targets and report actuals vs. plan to CoPlay leadership

Oversee banquet hall and restaurant operations including event bookings, F&B vendor management, and revenue generation

Design and implement membership campaigns, referral programs, and community events to grow the member base

Coordinate with CoPlay's central marketing team for digital and offline promotions

Serve as the primary point of contact for all government liaisons related to the Gymkhana tender

Build and maintain strong relationships with local government officials, panchayat representatives, and community leaders

Ensure all compliance obligations under the tender — reporting, usage metrics, maintenance standards — are met on time

Represent CoPlay positively within the Goa sports and community ecosystem

Manage the facility P&L — control costs across utilities, staffing, maintenance, and consumables

Submit weekly and monthly MIS reports to CoPlay leadership covering revenue, footfall, membership conversions, and operational issues

Approve vendor invoices and manage petty cash within sanctioned limits

Hospitality + Sports Combo
Someone who has managed a resort's sports and recreation division, or a large residential club with poolside, courts, and dining

8–15 years of experience in facility, hospitality, or sports operations management

Proven track record of managing large multi-function facilities or properties

Experience with team management of 20+ on-site staff across diverse functions

Strong P&L ownership or at minimum senior-level exposure to financial reporting

Fluency in Konkani (Goan) — this is non-negotiable given the community and government liaison requirements

Based in or willing to be based in Goa on a permanent basis

Prior experience with government-leased or tendered facilities

Network within Goa's sporting, government, or community circles

Experience managing membership-based revenue models

Familiarity with sports coaching partner ecosystems and multi-sport programming
