Summary
The AC Technician is responsible for the installation, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration systems. The role ensures that all HVAC equipment operates efficiently, safely, and in compliance with organizational and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration systems.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults in AC systems.
- Repair or replace defective components, including compressors, motors, fans, thermostats, filters, and electrical controls.
- Monitor the performance of HVAC systems and ensure optimal energy efficiency.
- Maintain records of maintenance, repairs, and service activities.
- Respond promptly to breakdowns and emergency maintenance requests.
- Ensure proper refrigerant handling and disposal in accordance with environmental regulations.
- Inspect equipment regularly and recommend repairs or replacements when necessary.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
- Coordinate with other maintenance staff and departments to minimize equipment downtime.
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety policies and standard operating procedures.
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new HVAC equipment when required.
Qualifications
- ITI/Diploma in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, HVAC, or a related technical field.
- Certification in HVAC or Refrigeration is preferred.
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in AC and HVAC maintenance (hospital, commercial, or industrial experience preferred).
Required Skills
- Sound knowledge of HVAC systems and refrigeration principles.
- Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Strong troubleshooting and fault diagnosis skills.
- Knowledge of electrical wiring, controls, and safety procedures.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Basic computer skills for maintenance reporting are an advantage.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
