About the Role
We are looking for an experienced AV Designer – Level 2 to lead and deliver end-to-end AV design solutions. This role involves designing complex AV systems, coordinating with clients, producing detailed documentation, and mentoring junior designers. The L2 Designer ensures designs are technically feasible, compliant with industry standards, and aligned with client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead design activities for AV systems, including audio, video, control, and video conferencing solutions.
- Participate in kick-off meetings to understand project scope, requirements, and constraints.
- Develop optimized AV solution designs for enterprise, commercial, and mid-to-large projects.
- Generate complete BOQs and maintain detailed engineering documentation, including as-built drawings and programming files.
- Present design proposals, BOMs, and solution approaches to clients and stakeholders.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants to ensure design feasibility and integration with networking and enterprise environments.
- Identify design challenges (space constraints, system compatibility, performance requirements) and propose alternatives.
- Track design iterations, maintain version control, and document decisions and changes throughout the design lifecycle.
- Mentor L1 designers, review their outputs, and ensure compliance with LSPL and AV industry standards.
- Keep up-to-date with evolving AV technologies, products, and integration methodologies.
Skills & Competencies
- Advanced understanding of AV system components, integration, and enterprise AV solutions.
- Strong design and documentation skills (2D/3D AutoCAD or equivalent).
- Ability to produce optimized solutions balancing technical feasibility and client requirements.
- Excellent communication and client-facing presentation skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Experience managing multiple design tasks or projects concurrently.
Preferred Training / Certifications
- Crestron: Crestron Technician Fundamentals (CTI-CTF), Crestron Flex for Microsoft Teams Rooms (CTI-CFT), Intelligent Video Design (IVC-D), DM Certified Designer – DM NVX (DMC-E-NVX), Crestron Fundamentals Commercial (CTI-CFC)
- Advanced OEM and CTS certifications
- Familiarity with AVIXA/CTS standards, conferencing solutions, and enterprise AV environments
