**Reports To:** Center Head / Training Manager
Job Summary:
The Academic Counsellor will play a pivotal role in guiding and supporting students enrolled in vocational training programs. This includes providing academic counselling, addressing personal and academic concerns, and facilitating successful course completion, thereby enhancing the employability and productivity of the youth.
Key Responsibilities:
· Student Engagement & Academic Support:
· Conduct individual and group counselling sessions to address students' academic and personal concerns.
· Assist students in setting realistic academic goals and developing study plans.
· Monitor student progress and provide timely feedback and support.
· Program Promotion & Student Mobilization:
· Engage with communities, schools, and local organizations to promote vocational training programs.
· Conduct awareness sessions and workshops to attract potential candidates.
· Collaborate with the mobilization team to ensure enrollment targets are met.
· Monitoring & Reporting:
· Maintain accurate records of counselling sessions and student progress.
· Provide regular reports on student outcomes and feedback to the management.
· Monitor post-training progress and address any issues faced by alumni.
· ERP updation
Qualifications & Skills:
· Educational Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology, Counselling, Education, or a related field OR any other field with relevant experience
· Experience:
· Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in academic counselling, preferably in the education or vocational training sector.
· Skills:
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Strong organizational and record-keeping abilities.
· Empathetic and patient approach to student concerns.
· Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
Preferred Attributes:
· Familiarity with vocational training programs and the challenges faced by youth in employment.
· Proficiency in local languages and understanding of regional socio-economic contexts.
· Experience in organizing workshops and community outreach programs.
