Roles & Responsibility (Job Profile)
- Lead and mentor the Tool Design team.
- Design and develop die-casting tools for Aluminium and Zinc components.
- Review product drawings for DFM and feasibility.
- Develop die layouts, gating, cooling, venting, ejection, and core mechanisms.
- Prepare and review 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Machining, and Product Design teams.
- Support tool trials, troubleshooting, and process optimization.
- Ensure adherence to design standards and timely project completion.
- Drive tooling cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of HPDC, die construction, GD&T, tool steels, CNC/EDM, and CAD software (Creo/NX/CATIA/SolidWorks).
- Exposure to simulation software (MAGMA, Flow-3D, Pro CAST, or Auto CAST) is preferred.
Competency (Candidate Profile)
- Education: Diploma (NTTF/GTTC) / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical or Tool Engineering.
- Experience: 4-8 years in die-casting tool design with 2-3 years of team handling experience and exposure to complete tool development from concept to production.
- Strong knowledge of HPDC, die construction, DFM, gating, runner balancing, cooling, venting, GD&T, tool steels, CNC machining, EDM, polishing, tool assembly, CAD software (Creo/NX/CATIA/SolidWorks), AutoCAD, PLM/PDM systems, MS Office, and simulation software (MAGMA, Flow-3D, ProCAST, or AutoCAST preferred).
- Team leadership, planning, mentoring, performance management, cross-functional coordination, project management, customer interaction, analytical thinking, problem-solving, decision-making, communication, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
