Job Summary
The Pre-Production Designer is responsible for preparing and releasing accurate, detailed technical drawings that serve as the final input for factory production. This role ensures all approved design intent, dimensions, materials, and hardware details are technically feasible and optimized for production through software such as Naadi. The position requires strong technical drawing skills, an understanding of modular manufacturing processes, and close coordination between design and production teams.
1. Pre-Production Drawing Preparation
· Create final pre-production drawings based on approved client and design inputs.
· Ensure drawings comply with company design standards, material specifications, and manufacturing feasibility.
· Prepare detailed exploded views, dimension drawings, and material annotations for each component.
2. Technical Accuracy & Optimization
· Ensure zero technical or dimensional errors in drawings released for production.
· Prepare drawings that are fully compatible and ready for optimization in Naadi software.
· Conduct self-QC checks before final submission to minimize factory-level queries.
3. Material and Hardware Detailing
· Accurately specify material types, finishes, edge banding, and hardware positions.
· Cross-verify all specifications with the Bill of Materials (BOM) or CRM before releasing drawings.
· Update and maintain the hardware and material specification database regularly.
4. Coordination with Design & Production Teams
· Work closely with the design team to understand the design intent and resolve discrepancies.
· Coordinate with the production team to clarify technical queries during the manufacturing process.
· Attend internal review meetings to ensure smooth communication flow between teams.
5. Documentation & Record Management
· Maintain version control and proper naming conventions for all drawing files.
· Archive previous versions and ensure only the latest approved drawings are used for production.
· Keep all drawing-related data properly organized and easily retrievable.
6. Process Compliance & Improvement
· Adhere to company drawing standards, layer structures, and documentation formats.
· Suggest and implement process improvements, drawing standardizations, or automation ideas.
· Stay updated on design and optimization tools (e.g., Naadi, AutoCAD, Cabinet Vision, etc.).
Skills & Competencies
· Proficiency in AutoCAD and Naadi optimization software (Cabinet Vision knowledge is a plus).
· Strong technical understanding of modular furniture construction and materials.
· Attention to detail and accuracy in dimensioning and specifications.
· Ability to read and interpret design layouts and architectural drawings.
· Effective communication and coordination skills.
· Organizational skills for file and data management.
Qualifications & Experience
· Diploma/Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field.
· 2–5 years of experience in modular/interior pre-production drawing preparation.
· Prior experience in handling drawings for automated panel processing or modular systems preferred.
