Functional & Operational Duties
Environment Management: Oversee the orderliness, cleanliness, and overall atmosphere of the library to maintain a positive space for learning.
Rules & Procedures: Design, develop, and enforce library rules and procedures to ensure fair and safe adherence by all users.
Collection Management: Select and order resources (physical books, e-books, technologies, and general literature) that align with school system policies, curriculum needs, and individual student/teacher growth.
Database Maintenance: Maintain the library database and cataloging standards in accordance with professional industry benchmarks.
Program Planning: Plan and execute dedicated school library programs, reading initiatives, and events to address student needs and encourage reading for pleasure.
2. Instructional & Research Support
Leadership in Literacy: Provide instructional leadership to both students and teachers on how to effectively navigate information resources and literature.
Curriculum Integration: Assist faculty members in selecting and utilizing appropriate physical and digital resources to enhance classroom learning.
Information Ethics: Teach students how to find, evaluate, and use information ethically, including guidance on research methods and citation practices.
3. Interaction & Collaboration
Teacher Collaboration: Work closely with teaching staff to integrate library services and multimedia materials seamlessly into the curriculum.
Resource Consulting: Act as a resource consultant for teachers, providing innovative ideas, classroom materials, and helping interpret or communicate complex intellectual content.
Community Inquiry: Address day-to-day library inquiries from teachers, students, parents, and administrative faculty members.
