About the Role:
Gold Point Jewellers is looking for a highly meticulous and trustworthy Cashier to join our retail team for the long term. This is a highly technical, specialized accounting position that goes far beyond standard cashier duties. You will be managing complex daily transactions involving cash ledgers, fine gold allocations, and old gold exchanges.
This role offers a significant learning curve. The right candidate will gain deep, practical knowledge of the jewelry industry, learning the intricacies of gold weight management (grams), purity standards (e.g., 18kt, 24kt), and B2B/retail transaction flows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Counter Transactions: Manage all daily cash entries and register transactions at the retail counter with absolute precision.
- Karigar Inventory Management: Oversee the exact inflow and outflow of gold with craftsmen (Karigars). This includes accurately issuing fine gold and strictly recording the receipt of finished jewelry.
- Customer Gold Exchanges: Carefully evaluate, document, and record old gold brought in by retail customers for deposit or exchange.
- Accounts Receivable: Actively maintain, monitor, and handle the outstanding payments and receivables list to ensure timely settlements.
- Daily Ledger Balancing: Ensure all daily physical assets (cash and gold weight) match accounting entries flawlessly before the end of the shift.
Working Hours & Expectations:
- Shift Timings: 10:30 AM to 9:00 PM.
- Flexible Start: The 10:30 AM start time is open to adjustment after further discussion.
- Performance-Based End Time: The 9:00 PM end time is directly tied to accurately tallying the day's accounts. If the daily ledger is successfully balanced earlier, you are free to leave before 9:00 PM. This daily account reconciliation is a core, non-negotiable requirement of the role.
- Training Provided: You will receive full, hands-on training for all daily responsibilities, including our specific tracking systems, to ensure you are set up for success from day one.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in an accounting, bookkeeping, or primary cashier role.
- Accounting Skills: Strong, practical knowledge of accounting principles, daily cash flow tracking, and ledger management.
- Communication: Excellent active listening skills. You must be able to accurately understand and execute precise technical instructions from management, customers, and Karigars.

Preferred Qualifications (Major Plus):
- Previous work experience in the jewellery sector in any capacity (retail, wholesale, or manufacturing).
- Familiarity with jewelry business terminology.
