About the Role You will be part of a fast-paced, high-performing engineering team, designing and developing high-quality Android applications using Kotlin. The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions, with a focus on delivering clean, high-quality code. Success in this role means creating maintainable, testable, and scalable codebases that meet strong engineering standards and design principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop high-quality Android applications using Kotlin.
- Build intuitive and scalable user interfaces leveraging modern UI frameworks such as Jetpack Compose.
- Apply architectural best practices including MVVM and Clean Architecture to create maintainable and testable codebases.
- Work closely with Product Owners, designers, and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Take ownership of performance optimization, ensuring applications are efficient, scalable, and responsive.
- Perform app profiling and diagnostics to identify and resolve bottlenecks.
- Actively participate in the full development lifecycle including design, implementation, testing, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct code reviews, share best practices, and mentor junior developers to elevate team capabilities.
Requirements
- Hold an Engineering Degree - B.E/B.Tech/MS– Computer Science or a related field.
- Have 7+ years of professional experience in Android application development.
- Demonstrate strong proficiency in Kotlin programming language.
- Have extensive experience with Jetpack Compose for modern UI development.
- Possess hands-on experience with MVVM and Clean Architecture patterns.
- Understand asynchronous programming using Coroutines, Flow, and StateFlow.
- Have experience with dependency injection frameworks such as Hilt/Dagger.
- Have hands-on experience with networking libraries like Retrofit and OkHttp.
- Have experience with local data storage solutions such as Room Database and DataStore.
Good to Have
- Experience working in Agile/SAFe environments.
- Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
