A Business Development Manager (BDM) in this role drives Franchise outlet business, aggregator and POSP business in motor insurance, manages renewal retention, train frontline sales managers, and leads a team of calling agents.
Travel : This profile involves travel to visit Franchise partner outlets across South India
Key Responsibilities
Revenue & Portfolio Management
· Hit Sales Targets: Drive fresh and renewal motor insurance premium revenue across private cars, two-wheelers, and commercial vehicles.
· Manage Aggregator Channels: Own relationships with digital insurance aggregators and web aggregators to optimize lead flow and conversion rates.
· Maximize Renewal Retention: Implement data-driven campaigns to track expiring policies, reduce churn, and win back lapsed customers.
Team Leadership & Operations
· Manage Calling Agents: Supervise a team of outbound/inbound calling agents, monitoring daily dials, talk time, and lead-to-closure conversions.
· Enforce Quality & Compliance: Monitor all call flows to ensure adherence to insurance regulatory guidelines (e.g., IRDAI script and disclosure compliance).
· Optimize Resource Allocation: Route high-intent aggregator leads and high-value renewal data strategically to top-performing agents.
Training & Enablement
· Train Sales Managers: Upskill Sales Managers on retail distribution strategies, partner onboarding, and B2B partner management techniques.
· Product & Tech Training: Conduct regular workshops on motor insurance add-ons (e.g., Zero Depreciation, Return to Invoice) and digital portal navigation.
· Objection Handling: Coach the team on overcoming premium objections, competing with rival quotes, and articulating unique policy benefits.
Performance Key Metrics (KPIs)
· Gross Written Premium (GWP) targets achieved.
· Renewal retention percentage (Month-on-Month / Year-on-Year).
· Conversion rate of Agents / aggregator and digital retail leads.
· Average Handling Time (AHT) and Quality Score of the calling team.
· Percentage of Sales Managers meeting their individual targets
Experience Requirement:
Minimum of 3–5 years of sales experience, NBFC / DSA / fintech
