Position information:
As Microsoft Dynamics 365 Data Migration Specialist, you will be responsible for taking end-to-end ownership of data migration is all modules in scope for 20+ Piab Companies.
The role will be part of the global IT team. Global Digital and IT Service is responsible to provide IT services and large programs, projects to support business strategy. The role is within the business transformation that is responsible for enterprise applications and large-scale transformation programs both in Digital and IT. The role reports to the Director Business Transformation at Piab Group.
Role description
- Align with data migration strategy and plan
- Collaborate with project managers and solution architects to align migration activities with overall project milestones, cutover plans, and deployment strategies
- Datra requirements Gathering and Data Analysis
- Engage with business stakeholders and functional teams to understand data requirements, entities, relationships, and critical business rules. Analyze legacy systems and source data structures to identify migration objects, data volumes, data quality issues, and dependencies. Document data mapping specifications, transformation rules, and validation criteria for each entity to be migrated.
- Data Mapping, Transformation
- Create and maintain detailed data mapping documents between legacy systems and Dynamics 365 data entities. Implement transformation logic to conform source data to Dynamics 365 data models, business rules, and reference data. Perform data cleansing activities to correct inconsistencies, remove duplicates, standardize values, and improve overall data quality in collaboration with business data owners.
- Data extraction support from source systems
- Extract data from source applications based on the data mapping with D36
- Data load in D365 test and production environments
- Data Validation, Reconciliation, and Sign‑Off
- Define and execute validation and reconciliation procedures to verify completeness and accuracy of migrated data.
- Documentation
- Document all data related tasks/activities and outcomes
- Governance, Security, and Compliance
- Ensure data migration activities comply with organizational policies, data protection regulations (such as GDPR), and industry standards. Apply appropriate data security controls, including data masking, restricted access, and secure transfer of sensitive data. Support data governance initiatives by helping define ownership, data standards, and data quality rules for Dynamics 365.
- Forums
- Take part in different projects and support forums.
- Contribute with inputs to these forums with requirements management, solution management, testing, support tickets resolution.
- Hans-on approach
- D365 ERP solution touches business processes in sales, order management, pricing, sourcing, purchasing, manufacturing, inventory, warehousing, transportation, field service, financial management. Therefore, a very hands-on and cross-functional approach is needed in this role.
