Group Pharmacy Head
Reports To
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) / Chief Operating Officer (COO) / Group Medical Director
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership & Strategic Management
- Develop and implement the group's pharmacy strategy.
- Lead pharmacy managers and pharmacy teams across all facilities.
- Establish standardized pharmacy policies and procedures.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence.
- Participate in executive management meetings and strategic planning.
2. Pharmacy Operations
- Oversee daily pharmacy operations across all locations.
- Ensure uninterrupted availability of essential medications.
- Standardize dispensing practices and workflow.
- Monitor pharmacy performance and productivity.
- Implement best practices to improve service delivery.
3. Procurement & Supply Chain
- Develop annual procurement plans.
- Negotiate with pharmaceutical suppliers and distributors.
- Optimize purchasing costs while maintaining quality.
- Monitor stock levels and reduce wastage.
- Ensure proper storage and distribution of medicines.
4. Inventory Management
- Monitor inventory turnover and stock movement.
- Reduce expired and obsolete inventory.
- Conduct periodic stock audits.
- Implement inventory control systems.
- Ensure compliance with stock management policies.
5. Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with national pharmacy laws and regulations.
- Maintain pharmacy licenses and statutory approvals.
- Coordinate inspections by regulatory authorities.
- Ensure compliance with narcotic and controlled drug regulations.
- Maintain required documentation and records.
6. Clinical Pharmacy Services
- Promote safe and rational medication use.
- Support antimicrobial stewardship initiatives.
- Collaborate with physicians and nursing teams.
- Review formulary management.
- Participate in medication safety committees.
7. Quality Assurance
- Implement pharmacy quality standards.
- Monitor medication errors and adverse drug events.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with accreditation standards.
- Develop quality improvement programs.
8. Financial Management
- Prepare pharmacy budgets.
- Monitor pharmacy revenue and expenses.
- Control drug expenditure.
- Improve profitability while maintaining patient safety.
- Analyze pharmacy financial performance.
10. Technology & Digital Systems
- Oversee Pharmacy Information Systems.
- Support Electronic Medical Record (EMR) integration.
- Improve automation and digital workflows.
- Ensure accurate medication data management.
- Support implementation of new pharmacy technologies.
11. Risk Management
- Minimize medication-related risks.
- Investigate pharmacy incidents.
- Develop corrective and preventive action plans.
- Ensure patient safety initiatives are implemented.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm)
- Master's degree in Pharmacy (M.Pharm), Hospital Administration, Healthcare Management, or MBA preferred
- Registered Pharmacist with the relevant Pharmacy Council
- Additional certifications in hospital pharmacy, quality, or healthcare management are an advantage
Experience
- 12–15+ years of pharmacy experience
- At least 5–8 years in a senior leadership or multi-site pharmacy management role
- Experience in hospital or healthcare group pharmacy operations
- Experience in procurement, inventory management, budgeting, and regulatory compliance
Pay: ₹80,000.00 - ₹95,000.00 per month
