Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled Milling / Turning Machine Operator to operate conventional or CNC milling and turning machines for manufacturing precision components. The candidate will be responsible for machine operation, maintaining quality standards, and achieving production targets in a safe and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate milling and turning machines as per production requirements.
- Load and unload raw materials and finished components.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, process sheets, and work instructions.
- Ensure proper machine settings and tooling before commencing operations.
- Monitor machining processes and make necessary adjustments within defined limits.
- Perform in-process inspections using measuring instruments.
- Maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish as per specifications.
- Identify and report machine malfunctions, tooling issues, and quality concerns.
- Record production data and maintain machine operation logs.
- Ensure workplace cleanliness and adherence to 5S standards.
- Follow all safety procedures, quality standards, and company policies.
- Support preventive maintenance activities when required.
Required Skills
- Experience operating milling and/or turning machines.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of machining processes, cutting tools, and machine operations.
- Familiarity with measuring instruments such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and dial indicators.
- Understanding of tolerances and quality requirements.
- Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications
- ITI (Fitter, Turner, Machinist, Tool & Die Maker) or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Relevant experience in machining or manufacturing industries.
