Job Summary
The Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests in a professional, courteous, and efficient manner while maintaining high standards of hygiene, quality, and guest satisfaction in accordance with hotel policies and service standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesBeverage Preparation & Service
- Prepare and serve cocktails, mocktails, spirits, wine, beer, and other beverages as per standard recipes.
- Ensure consistent quality, presentation, and portion control of all beverages.
- Recommend beverages and promote specialty drinks to guests.
- Take guest orders promptly and provide excellent customer service.
- Maintain proper garnishing and bar presentation standards.
Guest Relations
- Interact professionally and courteously with guests.
- Handle guest complaints or special requests efficiently and report major concerns to the supervisor.
- Ensure a welcoming and pleasant atmosphere at the bar.
Bar Operations
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the bar counter, equipment, glasses, and storage areas.
- Ensure adequate stock of liquor, mixers, garnishes, and bar supplies.
- Assist in daily inventory checking and stock control.
- Monitor beverage expiry dates and storage conditions.
- Follow standard opening and closing procedures of the bar.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure responsible service of alcohol and verify legal drinking age when required.
- Follow hotel safety, hygiene, and food handling standards.
- Adhere to all licensing laws, company policies, and SOPs.
- Maintain proper cash handling and billing procedures.
Coordination
- Coordinate with kitchen and service staff for smooth operations.
- Support banquet and special event beverage service when required.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma/Certification in Hotel Management or Bartending preferred.
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience as a Bartender in hotels, restaurants, or lounges.
- Knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wines, and beverage service standards.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic knowledge of POS billing systems.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, weekends, and holidays.
