Role Overview and Scope
The Medical Representative (MR) will be responsible for promoting and generating demand for the company’s Ayurvedic and healthcare products within the assigned territory. The role involves building strong relationships with doctors, chemists, and distributors to drive prescriptions, ensure product availability, and achieve sales targets. The MR will work closely with the Area Sales Manager to expand the company’s market presence, strengthen doctor engagement, and support the growth of the company’s product portfolio in the region.
Key Responsibilities
· Promote company products to doctors, chemists, and healthcare practitioners within the assigned territory.
· Conduct regular doctor visits and product detailing to generate prescriptions and increase product awareness.
· Build and maintain strong relationships with doctors including general physicians, gynaecologists, orthopaedics, and Ayurvedic practitioners.
· Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets for the assigned territory.
· Ensure product availability across chemists, retailers, and distributor networks.
· Coordinate with distributors and stockists to maintain adequate inventory and smooth product supply.
· Identify and develop new chemist and retailer outlets to increase product reach.
· Conduct market visits and gather insights on competitor products, pricing, and promotional activities.
· Maintain daily call reports and submit regular sales and field activity reports to the Area Sales Manager.
· Support the execution of promotional campaigns, doctor meetings, and local marketing activities.
· Develop strong working relationships with stockists and retailers to improve secondary sales.
· Monitor product movement at the retail level and follow up on orders with distributors.
· Provide feedback from doctors and customers to support product improvements and market strategies.
· Maintain professional conduct and represent the company effectively in the market.
Eligibility, Skills and Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in any discipline (Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Ayurveda, or Business preferred).
· Minimum 2 years of experience in pharmaceutical, Ayurvedic, OTC, or FMCG healthcare sales.
· Experience in doctor promotion and field sales is preferred.
· Familiarity with working in a defined territory and meeting sales targets.
· Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
· Ability to promote products effectively to doctors and retailers.
· Basic understanding of pharmaceutical or Ayurvedic product promotion.
· Good knowledge of the local market and healthcare ecosystem.
· Strong negotiation and sales closing skills.
· Ability to work independently in the field and manage territory activities.
· Basic reporting and documentation skills.
Pay: ₹16,105.22 - ₹20,000.00 per month
