A fire alarm engineer installs, tests, programs, and maintains commercial and residential fire detection systems to ensure life-safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation & Programming: Set up fire alarm control panels, smoke detectors, heat sensors, manual call points, and notification devices (hooters/sounders).
- Testing & Commissioning: Conduct routine inspections, testing, and system handovers to ensure functionality according to safety codes.
- Maintenance & Repair: Perform preventive maintenance, diagnose circuit faults, and clear ground faults or communication errors.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate service logs, wiring schematics, and testing reports for clients and regulatory compliance.
- Customer Support: Train end-users on system operations and respond to emergency breakdown service calls
