Location: A4 Bhanu Centre, Pammal
Department: Clinical / Medical Services
Shift: Night Shift
Timings: 9pm to 9am
Employment Type: Full-Time
Reporting To: Centre Head / Clinical Head
Job Summary:-
We are looking for a qualified and responsible Duty Medical Officer to provide clinical coverage during the night shift at our Pammal location. The DMO will be responsible for attending to patients, monitoring inpatients, handling medical emergencies, coordinating with consultants, and ensuring smooth clinical operations throughout the night.
Key Responsibilities:-
- Provide medical coverage and clinical support during the night shift.
- Attend to OPD/IPD patients and address their immediate medical needs.
- Monitor admitted patients and identify any changes in their clinical condition.
- Conduct initial assessment and provide appropriate medical management within the scope of practice.
- Handle medical emergencies and initiate necessary emergency measures.
- Coordinate with the available OBG/Gynaecology consultants and other specialists whenever required.
- Attend to maternity-related emergencies and coordinate timely escalation to the concerned consultant.
- Review and monitor patients as advised by the treating consultant.
- Ensure proper documentation of patient assessments, treatment, progress notes, and emergency interventions.
- Coordinate with nurses and other clinical staff to ensure continuity of patient care.
- Ensure timely escalation of critical cases to the appropriate consultant or senior medical team.
- Monitor investigations and reports and communicate clinically significant findings to the concerned consultant.
- Conduct regular rounds and ensure appropriate follow-up of inpatients during the night.
- Ensure proper handover of patient status and pending clinical issues to the morning medical team.
- Maintain patient safety, confidentiality, and professional standards at all times.
- Follow hospital protocols, clinical guidelines, infection-control practices, and emergency procedures.
Qualification:-
- MBBS – Mandatory.
- Candidates with a postgraduate qualification in OBG / Gynaecology will be preferred.
- Candidates with relevant clinical experience in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, maternity, fertility, or hospital settings will be preferred.
- Valid medical registration is mandatory.
Experience:-
- Fresh MBBS graduates with good clinical knowledge may be considered.
- 1–3 years of experience in a hospital/maternity setting will be an added advantage.
- Candidates with experience handling night-duty and emergency cases will be preferred.
Required Skills:-
- Good clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage emergency situations calmly and effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good coordination with consultants, nurses, and hospital staff.
- Patient-focused and responsible approach.
- Ability to work independently during the night shift.
- Good documentation and clinical reporting skills.
- Willingness to work exclusively in the night shift.
Key Responsibilities During Night Shift:-
- Ensure continuous medical coverage for the hospital during the assigned shift.
- Attend to emergency calls promptly.
- Monitor high-risk and critical patients.
- Coordinate with consultants for urgent clinical decisions.
- Ensure appropriate treatment and escalation of cases.
- Provide a comprehensive handover to the next shift.
Preferred Candidate Profile:-
The ideal candidate should be a responsible and patient-oriented MBBS doctor who is confident in handling clinical situations independently during the night shift, particularly in a maternity and women's healthcare environment. Candidates with an OBG/Gynaecology background will be preferred.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
