Mechanical Engineering Faculty ResponsibilitiesTeaching and Curriculum Responsibilities
- Deliver lectures, tutorials, and practical laboratory sessions in core mechanical engineering subjects such as Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Machine Design, Heat Transfer, and Manufacturing Processes.
- Develop, review, and update course syllabi, teaching materials, assignments, laboratory exercises, and examinations to align with industry trends and accreditation requirements.
- Supervise student design projects, CAD/CAM laboratories, workshops, and other hands-on learning activities.
- Mentor and advise undergraduate and postgraduate students on academic performance, career planning, internships, and professional development.
- Assess student learning outcomes and provide timely, constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
Research and Scholarship Responsibilities
- Conduct high-quality, original research in specialized areas of mechanical engineering.
- Publish research findings in reputable peer-reviewed journals and present scholarly work at national and international conferences.
- Prepare and submit competitive research grant proposals to government agencies, research councils, and industry partners.
- Supervise master's and Ph.D. students in their thesis and dissertation research.
- Foster interdisciplinary research collaborations and contribute to innovation and technology transfer initiatives.
Leadership and Administrative ResponsibilitiesAssistant Professor
- Establish an effective teaching portfolio and demonstrate excellence in classroom instruction.
- Develop an independent and sustainable research program.
- Participate in departmental meetings and serve on departmental committees.
- Contribute to curriculum development, student advising, and academic service activities.
Associate Professor
- Provide academic leadership in teaching, research, and curriculum enhancement.
- Lead and manage research groups and externally funded research projects.
- Mentor junior faculty members and review academic work where appropriate.
- Support accreditation, quality assurance, and departmental strategic initiatives.
Professor
- Provide strategic leadership for the department and contribute to institutional planning.
- Shape long-term research priorities and promote excellence in teaching and scholarship.
- Build and strengthen partnerships with industry, government agencies, and international academic institutions.
