The VMC Machine Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring Vertical Machining Center (VMC) machines to produce precision machined components as per engineering drawings and quality standards. The role involves machine setup support, tool handling, inspection, and maintaining production efficiency.
- Operate VMC machines to manufacture precision components.
- Load and unload raw materials and finished parts.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and process sheets.
- Perform basic machine setup (fixture mounting, tool loading, offset setting).
- Conduct in-process inspection using measuring instruments (Vernier, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Bore Gauge, etc.).
- Maintain dimensional accuracy as per tolerance requirements.
- Monitor tool wear and inform supervisor for tool replacement.
- Maintain daily production reports and log sheets.
- Ensure proper coolant level and machine cleanliness.
- Follow safety procedures and company quality standards.
- Perform deburring and basic finishing operations if required.
