Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teacher to join our educational team at Footprints Preschool & Daycare. The Teacher will be responsible for planning, organising, and implementing engaging instructional activities for young learners while ensuring a nurturing and stimulating environment.
This is a full-time position focused on quality teaching, child development, and meaningful engagement.
Working Hours:
- Monday to Friday: 09:00 AM – 05:30 PM
- Reporting Time: 08:45 AM (Monday to Friday)
- Alternate Saturdays: 09:30 AM – 04:00 PM
- Note: This is strictly a full-time role and not a part-time opportunity.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Child Care & Safety
- Ensure a safe, secure, and hygienic learning environment for children
- Attend to children’s basic needs and emotional well-being
- Follow applicable child protection requirements, including the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, and the school's child-safeguarding procedures.
- Never use physical punishment, threats, humiliation, or inappropriate disciplinary practices.
- Ensure children are handed over only to authorized persons as per centre procedures.
Teaching & Curriculum Implementation
- Implement the curriculum and daily planner with guided activities
- Use a variety of teaching materials and learning resources
- Adapt teaching methods to meet individual learning needs and interests
- Take daily observations/anecdotes to track child development
- Plan and conduct age-appropriate, play-based learning activities.
- Prepare and complete daily/weekly lesson plans and session planners on time.
- Create an engaging, positive, and well-organized classroom environment.
- Manage classroom routines and children's behaviour with patience and care.
- Monitor and document children's learning and developmental progress.
- Ensure the safety, hygiene, and well-being of all children at all times.
- Follow all child protection and safeguarding policies, including POCSO requirements.
- Maintain regular and professional communication with parents regarding children's progress.
- Maintain attendance, assessments, and other required classroom records.
- Actively participate in school events, celebrations, training programs, and other centre activities.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, nannies, and management.
- Maintain punctuality, regular attendance, discipline, confidentiality, and professional conduct.
Child Development
- Support and monitor each child’s overall growth and development
- Encourage creative, cognitive, social, and emotional development
Parent Interaction
- Build and maintain a positive rapport with parents
- Address parent concerns professionally without impacting relationships
Collaboration & Administration
- Collaborate with teachers and administrators for program development and evaluation (HighScope approach)
- Enforce all school policies and procedures
- Maintain and manage classroom inventory and educational materials
- Participate actively in trainings and development programs
Desired Candidate Profile
Experience & Qualification
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a preschool setting
- Graduate with ECCE / NTT certification (preferred)
- Relevant preschool teaching certification will be an advantage.
- Prior experience working with preschool-aged children is preferred.
- Freshers with appropriate qualifications and a strong interest in early childhood education may also be considered.
