Role Overview
The Business Manager – Standby plays a critical role in ensuring uninterrupted retail operations across assigned locations. This position is responsible for temporarily managing store operations in the absence of the designated Business Manager, driving sales performance, maintaining operational excellence, and ensuring a consistent and high-quality customer experience. The role requires strong adaptability, leadership, and a results-driven approach.
Key Responsibilities Operational Management
- Assume full responsibility for store operations during assigned periods
- Ensure adherence to company policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and compliance guidelines
- Maintain high standards of store presentation, cleanliness, and visual merchandising
- Ensure smooth coordination between store and support functions
Sales & Business Performance
- Drive revenue growth and achieve assigned sales targets
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as conversion rate, average transaction value, and footfall
- Identify business opportunities and implement strategies to maximize sales
- Execute ongoing promotions and in-store campaigns effectively
People Management
- Lead, supervise, and motivate store teams to achieve business objectives
- Conduct regular team briefings and performance follow-ups
- Support employee development through coaching and on-the-job training
- Maintain a disciplined, positive, and performance-oriented work culture
Customer Experience
- Ensure delivery of exceptional customer service at all times
- Address customer concerns and escalations in a timely and professional manner
- Foster long-term customer relationships and brand loyalty
Inventory & Asset Management
- Oversee stock availability and coordinate replenishment activities
- Ensure accurate inventory management and control shrinkage
- Support stock audits and ensure compliance with inventory processes
Reporting & Coordination
- Prepare and submit periodic business reports to management
- Collaborate with regional managers and cross-functional teams
- Provide insights and recommendations to improve store performance
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline (preferred)
- 3–6 years of experience in retail operations, preferably in electronics/mobile retail
- Proven experience in store management or team leadership roles
