Job Summary:
The Trainer – Employability Led Training will deliver structured and inclusive training programs aimed at enhancing the employability skills of persons with disabilities (PwDs). This role involves preparing learners for employment across various industry domains through effective facilitation, mentoring, and skill-building in communication, digital literacy, workplace readiness, and domain-specific competencies. The trainer will also ensure that all teaching methods are adapted to meet the diverse needs of learners with disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver employability and domain-specific training sessions to youth with disabilities as per APD’s curriculum.

Facilitate interactive sessions in soft skills, digital literacy, workplace behavior, interview preparation, etc.

Customize and adapt training content for various disability groups, ensuring accessibility and inclusion.

Conduct regular assessments to monitor learner progress and readiness for employment.

Maintain accurate training records, attendance, and progress reports.

Support trainees in resume building, interview skills, and confidence development.

Liaise with placement teams to align training with employer expectations.

Collaborate with parents/caregivers and counselors to support the overall development of trainees.

Participate in internal training of trainers (ToTs) and ongoing professional development.
Accountability:

Report directly to the Operations Manager on training delivery, learner progress, and challenges within Livelihood Programs

Ensure training delivery alignment with organizational goals, budget management, and operational protocols for the Livelihood Programs.

Ensure transparency, ethical conduct, and full compliance with the organization’s standards and policies.
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology, Special Education, or related field.

Minimum 1–4 years of experience in training, teaching, or facilitation, preferably with marginalized or special-needs groups.

Understanding of disability inclusion, basic sign language, and accessible teaching methods.

Proficiency in Kannada and English (spoken and written); additional local languages preferred.

Comfort with digital tools like MS Office, Zoom, and learning management platforms.
Preferred Qualifications (if any):

Certification in Special Education, Employability Skills, or Inclusive Education.

Prior experience in NGO or development sector projects focused on livelihoods or education.

Exposure to skilling programs under CSR or government schemes.
Working Conditions:

Based at APD’s training center, with possible travel to satellite or outreach locations.

Standard work hours with flexibility for occasional special sessions or reviews.

Willingness to work in a field-based setting with direct interaction with PwDs.
