Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Assistance
- Assist the Podiatrist during consultations, examinations, and procedures.
- Prepare patients for podiatry assessments and treatments.
- Assist in minor surgical procedures and wound management.
- Support diabetic foot care clinics and preventive foot screening programs.
- Assist with nail care, corn and callus management, and foot dressing procedures.
- Monitor patients during and after procedures and report abnormalities.
Patient Care
- Obtain and record patient history, vital signs, and relevant clinical information.
- Provide patient education regarding foot hygiene, diabetic foot care, footwear selection, and preventive care.
- Assist patients with mobility and positioning during treatment.
- Ensure patient comfort, dignity, and privacy at all times.
Wound Care Management
- Assist in dressing diabetic foot ulcers and post-operative wounds.
- Monitor wound healing progress and report concerns to the Podiatrist.
- Ensure proper wound care documentation.
Infection Prevention and Control
- Follow infection control policies and standard precautions.
- Ensure sterilization and disinfection of instruments and equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness of treatment rooms and clinical areas.
- Dispose of biomedical waste according to hospital policies.
Documentation and Records
- Maintain accurate patient records and treatment documentation.
- Update electronic medical records (EMR) promptly.
- Assist in preparing reports and maintaining departmental statistics.
Equipment and Inventory Management
- Prepare treatment rooms before clinic sessions.
- Maintain podiatry instruments and equipment.
- Monitor stock levels and raise requisitions for supplies.
- Ensure proper storage of consumables and sterile items.
Quality and Safety
- Adhere to hospital policies, NABH standards, and patient safety goals.
- Participate in quality improvement activities and departmental audits.
- Report incidents, near misses, and safety concerns promptly.
Training and Development
- Participate in mandatory hospital training programs.
- Attend continuing education sessions related to podiatry and wound care.
- Support orientation of new staff when required.
Job SpecificationEducational QualificationFor Podiatry Nurse
- B.Sc. Nursing / GNM Nursing.
- Valid Nursing Council Registration.
For Podiatry Assistant
- Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Allied Health Sciences, Nursing Assistant Course, Patient Care Technician, or equivalent qualification.
ExperiencePodiatry Nurse
- Minimum 1–2 years of clinical nursing experience.
- Experience in wound care, diabetic foot care, surgical dressing, or outpatient clinics preferred.
Podiatry Assistant
- Freshers may apply.
- Experience in assisting outpatient procedures and patient care preferred.
Pay: From ₹20,000.00 per month
