Dialysis Technician
Function: Clinical Operations
Reports To: Centre Manager / Nephrologist
Experience: 2–5 years in dialysis services
Role Purpose
The Dialysis Technician is responsible for delivering safe, high-quality haemodialysis treatment to patients while ensuring strict adherence to clinical protocols, infection-control standards, machine maintenance procedures, and patient care guidelines. The role is critical in ensuring excellent patient outcomes and a superior treatment experience.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care & Dialysis Delivery
- Prepare patients for dialysis and assess vital signs.
- Safely connect and disconnect patients.
- Monitor patients throughout treatment.
- Promptly escalate any clinical concerns.
Machine Operations
- Prepare, test, operate and maintain dialysis machines and RO water systems as per SOPs.
- Ensure machine readiness and report breakdowns immediately.
Clinical Quality & Safety
- Follow infection prevention and control protocols.
- Maintain dialysis adequacy standards and vascular access care procedures.
- Support medication administration and emergency response protocols.
Consumables & Inventory
- Maintain dialysis consumables and ensure proper storage.
- Track usage, minimize wastage and report stock shortages to the Centre Manager.
Documentation & RenalOS Compliance
- Accurately document treatment parameters, patient observations, machine logs, consumable usage and adverse events in RenalOS and prescribed records.
Patient Experience
- Provide compassionate patient support.
- Educate patients on dialysis care, diet and treatment adherence.
- Address patient concerns professionally.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with biomedical waste management, NABH standards, safety guidelines and Lord’s Renal clinical protocols.
Emergency Management
- Assist in handling dialysis-related emergencies and provide CPR support.
- Coordinate with nurses and nephrologists during critical situations.
Candidate Profile
Qualification: Diploma / Degree in Dialysis Technology (DDT / B.Sc. Dialysis Technology) or equivalent recognized qualification.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of hands-on dialysis experience in a hospital or dialysis centre. Experience with multi-station dialysis units is preferred.
Technical Skills: Dialysis machine operation, RO plant monitoring, vascular access handling, infection control, patient monitoring and emergency response.
Behavioural Skills: Patient-centric approach, attention to detail, teamwork, communication skills and commitment to clinical quality.
Travel: Willingness to support other centres within the region when required.
Pay: ₹9,659.03 - ₹20,000.00 per month
