The Stores Executive is responsible for managing the receipt, storage, inventory control, and issuance of medical and non-medical supplies required for hospital operations. The role ensures accurate stock management, timely availability of materials, compliance with hospital policies, and adherence to quality and safety standards.
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials against purchase orders and delivery challans.
- Ensure proper storage of medicines, consumables, surgical items, and general inventory as per hospital guidelines.
- Issue materials to departments based on authorized indents and maintain accurate records.
- Monitor stock levels and initiate replenishment requests to prevent stock shortages.
- Conduct periodic stock verification, cycle counts, and annual physical inventory.
- Track batch numbers, expiry dates, and FIFO/FEFO compliance for applicable items.
- Maintain inventory records in the Hospital Information System (HIS)/ERP.
- Coordinate with the Purchase, Pharmacy, and User Departments for timely material availability.
- Identify slow-moving, non-moving, and expired inventory and report to management.
- Ensure proper documentation, filing, and inventory reconciliation.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety within the store area.
- Comply with NABH standards, inventory control policies, and audit requirements.
- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or any relevant discipline.
- Diploma/Certification in Materials Management is an added advantage.
