Job Summary
The Knitting Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining knitting machines to produce fabric as per required quality, GSM, design, width, and production target. The operator must ensure smooth machine running, minimum wastage, proper yarn feeding, and timely reporting of defects or machine problems.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate circular / flat knitting machines as instructed by the supervisor.
- Check yarn count, lot number, shade, cones, and feeder arrangement before starting production.
- Set yarn properly in creel, feeder, tensioner, guide, needle, and sinker area.
- Monitor machine running continuously to avoid yarn breakage, needle breakage, holes, drop stitches, barré, oil marks, lycra fault, thick-thin places, and other fabric defects.
- Maintain required fabric quality, GSM, stitch length, width, and production parameters as per job card.
- Stop the machine immediately if any abnormal sound, defect, needle damage, yarn problem, or safety issue is noticed.
- Inform supervisor / mechanic / quality checker immediately regarding machine faults or quality issues.
- Ensure proper doffing of fabric rolls and identification by roll tag, machine number, lot number, and production details.
- Maintain daily production record, roll weight, wastage, stoppage time, and reason for machine stoppage.
- Keep machine and surrounding area clean and free from yarn waste, oil, dust, and unnecessary materials.
- Follow all safety rules, machine guarding norms, electrical safety, and fire safety instructions.
- Avoid unauthorized machine setting changes without supervisor’s permission.
- Assist mechanic during machine setting, needle change, sinker change, lycra setting, and maintenance work.
- Use yarn efficiently and avoid unnecessary wastage, wrong feeding, mixing of yarn lots, or cone damage.
- Follow shift handover and takeover procedure properly, including pending issues and running lot details.
- Maintain discipline, punctuality, and proper conduct inside the factory.
Required Skills

Qualification & Experience
Qualification: Minimum Class VIII preferred
Experience: 1–3 years in knitting machine operation preferred; fresher may be considered as trainee.
Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
Work Location: In person
