We are seeking an experienced and proactive Business Development Manager (BDM) to drive business growth within Government Departments, Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), and State/Central Government organizations. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of government procurement processes, tender management, and relationship building with key government stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Drive end-to-end sales activities for Central Government, State Government, and PSU accounts.
Identify, develop, and pursue new business opportunities within the government sector.
Build and maintain strong relationships with government officials, decision-makers, and key stakeholders through regular interactions and meetings.
Manage the complete sales cycle, from lead generation and opportunity identification to proposal submission and deal closure.
Lead and coordinate responses to government tenders, RFPs, bids, and empanelment opportunities.
Work extensively on platforms such as GeM (Government e-Marketplace) and CPP (Central Public Procurement Portal).
Understand government requirements and propose suitable solutions aligned with organizational objectives.
Promote the company’s products, solutions, and services across government departments and public sector organizations.
Track sales performance, market trends, upcoming projects, and procurement opportunities.
Collaborate with internal sales, marketing, technical, and delivery teams to ensure successful project execution.
Maintain accurate records of opportunities, bids, and client interactions within CRM systems.
Requirements
Proven experience in Government Sales, Business Development, or Institutional Sales.
Strong knowledge of GeM, CPP Portal, tendering processes, bidding procedures, and government procurement frameworks.
Experience working with Central Government, State Government Departments, PSUs, or Government Agencies.
Strong understanding of the buying and approval processes within government organizations.
Excellent communication, relationship management, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Ability to manage multiple opportunities and drive sales closures effectively.
