A scrub nurse is a specialized registered nurse who works directly within the sterile field of an operating room. They prepare surgical instruments, maintain strict asepsis, and closely assist surgeons by anticipating tool needs during operations. Before Surgery (Pre-Operative)
- Set up and organize sterile trays, instruments, and equipment.
- Perform "scrubbing in" protocols with sterile gowns, gloves, and masks.
- Count all needles, sponges, and instruments with the circulating nurse.
- Help drape the patient and assist surgeons into sterile gowns. [1, 2]
During Surgery (Intra-Operative)
- Pass tools, sponges, and supplies quickly to the surgeon.
- Anticipate the surgical team's exact needs based on the procedure.
- Watch the sterile field constantly for any accidental contamination.
- Manage tissue specimens and label medications correctly
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
