- Machine Operation: Load raw materials into hoppers, set parameters (temperature, pressure, and cycle time) per production guidelines, and initiate cycles.
- Quality Control: Visually or dimensionally inspect molded parts to detect defects like flash, short shots, or warpage.
- Setup & Tooling: Install or change molds according to work orders using clamps, hand tools, and robotic arms.
- Maintenance: Perform routine cleaning, clear minor jams, and conduct basic troubleshooting of the press and ancillary equipment.
- Documentation: Record production data, scrap rates, and equipment downtime to maintain accurate logs
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long shifts and lift weights up to 50 lbs.
- Technical Skills: Basic understanding of injection molding processes and the ability to read blueprints or standard work instructions.
- Attention to Detail: Strong visual acuity and manual dexterity to handle and trim small plastic components.
- Education: Typically requires a High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent vocational training
