education and holistic development for children and youth from marginalized communities
across Karnataka. Through its Community Learning Centres, Makkala Jagriti creates safe,
inclusive, and nurturing spaces where children and youth can learn, grow, and realize their
potential.
Role Overview
The Youth IT Facilitator plays a key role in empowering youth from marginalized
communities through digital literacy and basic IT education. The facilitator will be
responsible for creating an engaging and youth-friendly learning environment at our Yuva
Cafés, while equipping young people with essential computer skills and exposure to
emerging technologies.
In addition to facilitating IT sessions, the facilitator will mentor youth in setting goals,
developing learning pathways, and building skills that enhance their education,
employability, and personal growth. We seek individuals who believe in the transformative
power of education and technology and are passionate about working with underserved
communities.
Key Responsibilities
IT Training and Facilitation
● Plan and facilitate IT sessions aligned with Makkala Jagriti’s curriculum, covering
both foundational and advanced computer skills.
● Introduce youth to emerging technologies, digital tools, software applications, and
industry trends.
● Create engaging, practical, and learner-centered experiences that build digital
confidence and competence.
● Assess youth learning progress and provide timely feedback and support.
● Maintain the computer lab, ensuring all equipment is functional, organized, and
ready for use.
● Coordinate basic troubleshooting, repairs, and upkeep of hardware and software.
● Ensure a safe, clean, and conducive learning environment.
Youth Development and Mentoring
● Mentor youth in creating and pursuing personal, educational, and career
development plans.
● Support youth in identifying goals, exploring opportunities, and developing skills for
the future.
● Foster a positive, inclusive, and youth-friendly culture within the Yuva Café.
Program Coordination and Documentation
● Collaborate with the Project Coordinator to plan and execute monthly activities and
events.
● Contribute to the review and enhancement of training content based on participant
feedback and field experience.
● Maintain accurate and updated youth profiles and assessment data.
● Prepare contingency plans to ensure continuity of sessions during planned or
unplanned absences.
Qualifications and Experience
● Graduate in B.Sc. Computer Science, BCA, or a related field (preferred).
● Minimum 2–3 years of experience facilitating IT or digital skills training.
● Strong understanding of computer applications, digital tools, and emerging
technologies.
● Passion for working with and empowering youth from marginalized communities.
● Willingness to travel to community centres across Bengaluru.
● Strong communication, facilitation, and documentation skills.
● Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
● High levels of integrity, accountability, and professionalism.
● Proficiency in Kannada and English is essential.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
