Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Proto Vehicle Build Engineer to support prototype vehicle development, build planning, and manufacturing engineering activities. The role involves end-to-end execution of prototype builds, assembly line setup support, process development, quality planning, equipment commissioning, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure timely project execution.
Roles & Responsibilities
Plan and execute parts FTR activities based on 2D drawings.
Plan and execute aggregate module builds including Drivetrain, DAC, and Battery Box.
Lead planning and execution of VP0 vehicle builds and drive build quality processes.
Interpret and understand 2D drawings and 3D CAD models.
Support development processes for sheet metal and plastic components.
Coordinate and manage technicians for prototype build activities.
Provide onsite build support across various locations as required.
Plan and execute FTG activities for Build & Prototyping as per project timelines.
Develop Process Flow Charts, PFMEA, Quality Control Plans, and Standard Operating Procedures.
Study assembly drawings and assembly sequences to design assembly and holding fixtures.
Prepare Statements of Requirement (SOR) for assembly fixtures, tools, end-of-line equipment, and measurement systems.
Coordinate stakeholder approvals and sign-offs for equipment and tooling requirements.
Prepare budgets and cost estimates for build and assembly projects.
Liaise with suppliers and agencies for quotations and procurement activities.
Raise purchase requisitions and coordinate with procurement teams for timely execution.
Oversee installation and commissioning of equipment and assembly systems.
Ensure compliance with quality standards, manufacturing processes, and project requirements.
Experience
2 to 6 years
Industry Preferred
Qualifications
BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
General Requirements
Hands-on experience in Process Flow Charts, PFMEA, Quality Control Plans, and Standard Operating Procedures.
Knowledge of assembly line setup in the automotive or electronics industry.
Strong understanding of assembly and build line requirement analysis.
Good knowledge of purchase and procurement processes.Understanding of quality systems such as ISO, IATF, and Six Sigma methodologies.
Knowledge of End-of-Line (EOL) testing for electrical and electronic systems.
Strong planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Effective communication and presentation skills.
Experience in manpower handling and team coordination.Positive attitude and ability to work in a dynamic environment.
Fluency in English.
