Position Summary
The Head of Purchase will be responsible for overseeing the entire procurement function, including sourcing, vendor development, negotiation, inventory coordination, cost optimization, and supply chain management. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in interior fit-out, construction materials, furniture, fixtures, and project-based procurement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company objectives.
- Lead and manage the purchasing department and procurement team.
- Source, evaluate, and onboard suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, contracts, and service agreements to achieve cost savings.
- Manage procurement of interior materials including:
- Plywood, laminates, veneers
- Hardware and fittings
- Modular furniture components
- Lighting and electrical materials
- Glass, stone, metal, and finishing materials
- Soft furnishings and décor items
- Monitor material requirements based on project schedules and ensure timely delivery.
- Coordinate with design, project management, site execution, and accounts teams.
- Establish vendor performance evaluation systems.
- Maintain procurement records, purchase orders, and supplier databases.
- Track market trends, material availability, and price fluctuations.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and quality standards.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising quality.
- Prepare procurement reports, budgets, and management dashboards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
- 8–15 years of procurement experience, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience in interior fit-out, construction, furniture manufacturing, or related industries.
- Strong knowledge of interior materials, vendors, and supply markets.
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, procurement software, and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership abilities.
Preferred Skills
- Experience handling large-scale residential or commercial interior projects.
- Established network of suppliers and manufacturers.
- Strong understanding of inventory control and logistics.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced project environment.
- Excellent communication and team management skills.
