Job Title: Quality & Safety Engineer – HT Cable Laying (UG & OH)
Location: Bharuch, Gujarat
Job Summary:
We are looking for a dedicated Quality & Safety Engineer to ensure strict compliance with quality standards and safety practices in HT cable laying projects (Underground & Overhead) at Bharuch location. The role demands strong site presence, inspection control, and zero tolerance towards unsafe practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Control:
Ensure HT cable laying work is executed as per approved drawings, technical specifications, and client standards.
Inspect trenching, sand bedding, cable laying, brick protection, backfilling, jointing, termination, and route marking.
Ensure proper handling and laying of XLPE cables.
Verify all incoming materials before use.
Maintain QA/QC checklists, inspection reports, and test records.
Monitor IR values, HV testing, and ensure proper documentation.
Coordinate with client/consultant for approvals and inspections.
Safety Management:
Enforce all safety procedures at site during execution.
Conduct daily toolbox talks and safety briefings.
Ensure strict PPE compliance at site.
Identify hazards in trenching, cable pulling, road cutting, and lifting activities.
Ensure proper barricading, signage, and traffic control.
Stop unsafe work immediately and implement corrective actions.
Maintain safety logs, incident reports, and compliance records.
Site Coordination:
Coordinate with Project Manager, Site Engineers, and field teams.
Support execution team in maintaining quality & safety standards.
Assist during testing, charging, and commissioning activities.
Qualifications & Experience:
Diploma / B.E. in Electrical / Civil Engineering
3–7 years experience in HT cable laying projects (UG & OH)
Strong knowledge of cable laying standards and safety practices
Experience in 11kV / 22kV / 33kV projects preferred
