Job Description
Transport Planner / Senior Transport Planner
Job Summary
The Transport Planner will be responsible for planning, designing, analyzing, and reviewing multimodal transportation systems for large-scale urban infrastructure, industrial townships, smart cities, and regional development projects. The role includes preparation of transport master plans, traffic studies, mobility strategies, and coordination with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver sustainable and efficient transportation solutions.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare Transport Master Plans, Mobility Plans, and Integrated Transportation Strategies.

Conduct traffic impact assessments (TIA), traffic surveys, origin-destination studies, and travel demand forecasting.

Develop road hierarchy, street network plans, junction layouts, and complete street concepts.
-
Plan public transport systems including bus, metro, BRT, and multimodal integration.
-
Assess pedestrian and cycling infrastructure and recommend sustainable mobility solutions.
-
Develop parking strategies, freight movement plans, and logistics planning.
-
Coordinate with highway, utility, drainage, environmental, and urban planning teams.
-
Review and validate traffic simulation models and transportation studies prepared by consultants.
-
Support preparation of DPRs, feasibility studies, tender documents, and technical specifications.
-
Ensure compliance with IRC, MoRTH, Indian Roads Congress guidelines, National Building Code (NBC), and international best practices.
-
Present transportation proposals to clients, government agencies, and stakeholders.
-
Participate in design reviews, value engineering, and technical due diligence.
-
Support project management activities including scheduling, quality assurance, and technical reporting.

Mentor junior transport planners and engineers.

Lead transportation planning assignments from concept through detailed planning.

Coordinate with clients, government authorities, and multidisciplinary consultants.

Review consultant submissions for technical adequacy and compliance.

Prepare technical reports, presentations, and design recommendations.

Support business development by preparing technical proposals and bids.

Ensure timely delivery of project milestones while maintaining quality standards.
