Job Description – Waiter (F&B Service)
Position Summary
The Waiter is responsible for providing excellent food and beverage service to guests, ensuring a pleasant dining experience through professional, courteous, and efficient service. The role requires strong customer service skills, menu knowledge, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and greet guests in a warm and professional manner.
- Present menus and provide detailed information about food and beverage offerings.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders and enter them into the POS system.
- Serve food and beverages promptly and according to service standards.
- Ensure guest satisfaction by regularly checking on tables and responding to requests.
- Recommend menu items, specials, and promotions to guests.
- Coordinate effectively with kitchen and bar staff for smooth service.
- Handle guest complaints politely and escalate issues when necessary.
- Prepare bills and process payments accurately.
- Clear and reset tables promptly after guest departure.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the dining area.
- Assist with restaurant opening and closing duties.
- Follow all food safety, hygiene, and company policies.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality establishment.
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage service procedures.
- Good communication skills in English and Tamil.
- Pleasant personality and professional appearance.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
