Job Summary
The Sales Manager is responsible for driving business growth through acquisition of new clients, development of distribution channels, and management of insurance sales operations. The role involves selling corporate and/or retail insurance solutions, maintaining client relationships, achieving revenue targets, and leading a sales team to ensure business expansion and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve business targets.
- Generate leads and acquire new clients for insurance products including health, motor, life, property, liability, and group insurance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, SMEs, agents, and channel partners.
- Identify customer insurance requirements and provide suitable risk management and insurance solutions.
- Manage the complete sales cycle from prospecting to policy closure and renewal.
- Lead, train, and motivate the sales team to improve productivity and performance.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback.
- Coordinate with insurance companies for quotations, underwriting, policy issuance, and claims support.
- Ensure compliance with IRDAI regulations and internal company policies.
- Prepare MIS reports, sales forecasts, and performance reviews.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or related field.
- MBA preferred.
- IRDAI certification/licensing preferred where applicable.
Experience Required
- 2–6 years of experience in insurance sales or insurance broking.
- Proven track record in achieving sales targets and client acquisition.
- Experience in team handling and channel management preferred.
