Job Summary:
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Operation Theatre (OT) Staff Nurse to provide high-quality perioperative nursing care. The ideal candidate should have experience in assisting various surgical procedures, maintaining sterile techniques, and ensuring patient safety before, during, and after surgery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare the operation theatre for scheduled surgical procedures.
- Verify patient identity, consent, and pre-operative checklist.
- Assist surgeons, anesthetists, and the surgical team during operations.
- Perform duties as a Scrub Nurse and Circulating Nurse.
- Maintain strict aseptic and infection control practices.
- Prepare, count, and manage surgical instruments, sponges, and consumables.
- Monitor patients before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Ensure proper handling, sterilization, and storage of surgical instruments.
- Maintain accurate nursing documentation and OT records.
- Respond effectively during emergency surgeries.
- Ensure compliance with NABH and hospital protocols.
- Participate in OT quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
Requirements:
- B.Sc. Nursing or GNM.
- Valid Kerala Nursing Council registration.
- Minimum 2 years of Operation Theatre (OT) experience.
- Experience in General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Gynaecology, Urology, ENT, Ophthalmology, or other specialties is preferred.
- Knowledge of OT equipment, sterile techniques, and infection control.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to work rotational shifts and emergency duties.
Preferred Skills:
- OT Scrub and Circulating Nurse experience.
- Ability to anticipate surgeons' instrument requirements.
- Strong critical thinking and emergency response skills.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
Pay: From ₹17,000.00 per month
