Job Summary
The College Hostel Warden/Caretaker is responsible for the overall administration, safety, discipline, and welfare of students residing in the college hostel. The warden ensures that the hostel provides a safe, secure, clean, and supportive environment conducive to academic success and personal development. The role requires close coordination with the college administration, parents, security staff, housekeeping, and maintenance personnel.
Key Responsibilities1. Hostel Administration
- Supervise the day-to-day functioning of the hostel.
- Manage student admissions, room allotment, room changes, and hostel check-in/check-out procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of residents, attendance, visitor logs, leave applications, and hostel assets.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly administrative reports.
2. Student Welfare
- Ensure the safety, comfort, and well-being of all hostel residents.
- Provide guidance and support to students adjusting to hostel life.
- Counsel students regarding discipline, personal issues, and hostel regulations.
- Encourage a respectful, inclusive, and positive hostel environment.
3. Safety and Security
- Monitor student entry and exit according to hostel rules.
- Verify visitors and maintain visitor registers.
- Coordinate with security personnel to ensure campus safety.
- Conduct regular inspections of hostel rooms and common areas.
- Respond promptly to emergencies such as illness, accidents, fire, or security incidents.
4. Discipline and Conduct
- Enforce college and hostel rules, including attendance, curfew, and visitor policies.
- Address complaints related to misconduct, bullying, harassment, or damage to hostel property.
- Investigate incidents and report serious matters to the Principal, Dean, or Hostel Committee.
- Maintain confidential records of disciplinary actions.
Parent and College Communication
- Communicate with parents or guardians regarding important student matters when required.
- Coordinate with the Principal, Registrar, Student Affairs Office, faculty members, and other departments.
- Attend hostel committee meetings and implement approved decisions.
9. Student Activities
- Encourage student participation in cultural, recreational, and wellness activities.
- Organize awareness programs on health, safety, hygiene, and responsible hostel living.
- Promote harmony among students from diverse backgrounds.
Required Qualifications
- Plus Two (Higher Secondary) or equivalent from a recognized board.
- Diploma in any discipline from a recognized institution; or
- Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in hostel administration, residential facilities, educational institutions, student affairs, security, or facility management is preferred.
Pay: From ₹15,000.00 per month
