We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Preschool Teacher to join our team and help foster the early development and learning of young children. The ideal candidate will create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children can develop cognitively, emotionally, and socially. The Preschool Teacher will be responsible for planning and implementing age-appropriate activities, promoting positive behaviours, and collaborating with parents to support each child's growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum Instruction:
- Implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum that promotes social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth in young children.
- Organize daily activities that stimulate learning through play, music, art, stories, and hands-on experiences.
- Incorporate diverse learning styles to cater to individual needs and abilities of children.
Classroom Management:
- Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Use positive reinforcement to guide behaviour and maintain a supportive atmosphere.
- Establish clear routines and expectations to help children feel secure and confident.
Social and Emotional Development:
- Foster an environment of respect, kindness, and cooperation.
- Support children in building positive relationships with peers and teachers.
- Assist children in resolving conflicts and promoting empathy and self-regulation skills.
Health and Safety:
- Ensure the classroom and outdoor areas of the school premises are safe and clean.
- Adhere to all safety and health regulations to ensure the well-being of the children.
- Monitor children's health and report any concerns to parents and school administration.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with other teachers, support staff, and school administrators to enhance the learning environment.
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities to stay current with early childhood education best practices.
Parental Communication:
- Establish and maintain a strong line of communication with parents to discuss their child’s progress, needs, and any concerns.
- Encourage parental involvement through volunteer opportunities, events, and workshops.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field (required).
- Teaching certification in Early Childhood Education (preferred).
Experience:
- Previous experience working with children in a preschool or early childhood setting (preferred).
- Knowledge of child development and early childhood educational practices.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, creativity, and a genuine love for working with children.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a school environment.
- Organizational skills and ability to manage a classroom effectively.
- Basic understanding of child health and safety regulations.
- Ability to handle and care young children from the age of 6+ months.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time in person at the school premises.
- Being available on occasional evenings or weekends for parent meetings or school events.
- Physical requirements include the ability to sit on the floor, engage in activities with young children and being high on energy.
