Job Summary
Join growing Global Delivery Services (GDS) team in Chennai as a skilled Data & Analytics Developer, playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of data-driven decision-making across our Banking & Capital Markets (BCM) division. Embedded within a centralised Reporting & Insights Hub, you will design, develop, and maintain robust data warehousing solutions, ETL pipelines, and interactive dashboards that empower stakeholders with timely, accurate, and actionable insights.
We are seeking a technically adept developer with strong expertise in Tableau, SQL, and data warehouse architectures, who thrives in an agile, collaborative environment and is passionate about delivering high-quality analytics at scale.
This position supports global regulatory, management, and client-facing reporting needs, requiring precision, performance optimisation, and alignment with enterprise data governance principles.

Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade data warehouse models and semantic layers using dimensional modelling techniques.
Build and optimise ETL/ELT processes for ingesting, transforming, and harmonising data from multiple sources into consolidated data marts and warehouses.
Develop intuitive, high-performance interactive dashboards and visualisations in Tableau, translating complex business requirements into insightful reports.
Write advanced SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions for data extraction, aggregation, and validation across relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL).
Collaborate with business analysts, data stewards, and project teams to gather reporting requirements and define KPIs, metrics, and drill-down logic.
Ensure seamless integration between backend data systems and front-end visualisation tools, including parameterisation, filtering strategies, and row-level security in Tableau.
Administer and govern Tableau Server/Cloud environments, managing workbooks, data sources, permissions, scheduling, and performance tuning.
Support regulatory and management reporting initiatives, ensuring outputs comply with audit, control, and timeliness requirements.
Optimise query performance through proper indexing, partitioning, materialised views, and efficient join logic.
Document data lineage, report specifications, metadata definitions, and refresh mechanisms to ensure transparency and sustainability.
Participate in Agile ceremonies — including sprint planning, backlog refinement, demos, and retrospectives — as part of a cross-functional delivery team.
Uphold best practices in version control (Git/GitLab), CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and change management throughout the development lifecycle.
Stay current with advancements in data analytics, visualisation techniques and governance standards.
Skill Requirements
Minimum 5 - 8 years of experience in data warehouse development, BI reporting, and dashboard creation.
Proficiency in:
Tableau Desktop & Server/Cloud (including calculated fields, LOD expressions, parameters, dashboard actions)
Advanced SQL programming (CTEs, window functions, recursive queries, query optimisation)
Relational database management systems (RDBMS) such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, or PostgreSQL
ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend, SSIS, or equivalent)
Version control using Git/GitLab and familiarity with CI/CD practices
Solid understanding of:
Dimensional modelling and data warehouse architecture (Kimball/Inmon)
Metadata management, slowly changing dimensions (SCD), and fact table types
Performance tuning of large datasets and complex visualisations
Experience working in regulated financial environments with sensitivity to data confidentiality and integrity.
Preferred Technologies (Desirable)
Exposure to cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Azure Synapse, Collibra, Amazon Redshift, or Google BigQuery
Familiarity with Python or other tools for data manipulation and automation
Knowledge of REST APIs, JSON/XML parsing, or integration with external systems
Basic scripting in Shell, PowerShell, or Python for workflow automation
Domain Awareness
Functional understanding of Private Banking or Wealth Management domains, particularly around:
Client Portfolio Management
Securities Transactions (Equities, Bonds, Funds)
Treasury Operations
Fees & Commission Calculations
Regulatory Reporting (e.g., MiFID II, FATCA, CRS)
