he Lab Technician is responsible for performing laboratory testing of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products to ensure they meet the company's quality standards. The role also includes maintaining laboratory records, operating testing equipment, and supporting the Quality Control and Production teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
- Conduct routine laboratory tests as per approved procedures.
- Perform colour matching and shade verification where required.
- Record and maintain accurate test results and laboratory documentation.
- Prepare product samples for testing and customer approval.
- Operate, clean, and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Report any quality deviations or non-conforming products to the QC Manager.
- Follow SOPs, GMP, 5S, and all laboratory safety procedures.
- Assist in calibration of laboratory instruments.
- Coordinate with the Production and Quality teams to resolve quality-related issues.
- Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping in the laboratory.
Qualification
- B.Sc. Chemistry / Diploma in Chemical Engineering / ITI Laboratory Assistant or any relevant science qualification.
Experience
- 1–3 years of experience as a Lab Technician in a manufacturing industry.
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the Colour Stationery Manufacturing Industry (Crayons, Sketch Pens, Water Colours, Poster Colours, Markers, Inks, etc.).
Required Skills
- Knowledge of laboratory testing procedures.
- Basic understanding of quality control standards.
- Ability to operate laboratory instruments.
- Good documentation and record-keeping skills.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office (Excel & Word).
- Good communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
