Summary:
As a Data Engineer, a typical day involves developing and migrating complex data-driven insights and knowledge engine interfaces that support organizational decision-making processes. The role includes deploying and maintaining these systems to ensure continuous availability and reliability. A significant part of the day is dedicated to integrating robust security measures and data privacy protections to safeguard sensitive information. Collaboration with various teams to align technical solutions with business needs is also a key aspect, ensuring that the insights generated are actionable and support strategic goals effectively.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Expected to be an SME, collaborate and manage the team to perform.
- Lead design and development of complex PLX-based dashboards, workflows, data processes, analytical tools, and automation solutions.
- Translate functional and analytical requirements into scalable technical designs and implementation plans.
- Develop advanced SQL logic for large datasets, including transformation, validation, optimization, metric calculation, and exception handling.
- Build or guide Python-based automation, data validation, analytical processing, and repeatable workflows in Colab.
- Review code, SQL, dashboards, workflows, documentation, and test outputs produced by developers and entry-level developers.
- Provide technical direction on solution design, data model usage, workflow structure, performance, maintainability, and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with techno-functional analysts, managers, consultants, and stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve ambiguity.
- Identify reusable components, development standards, and opportunities to improve delivery efficiency.
- Support production issue resolution, root-cause analysis, defect fixes, and enhancement prioritization.
- Mentor junior developers and help build technical capability across the team.
Professional & Technical Skills:
- Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in Oracle Procedural Language Extensions to SQL (PLSQL).
- Advanced SQL skills, including complex joins, window functions, performance-aware query design, data transformation, and validation logic.
- Strong experience building analytics, BI, dashboard, workflow, or automation solutions on large datasets.
- Strong Python capability for analysis, automation, validation, and reusable processing logic.
- Ability to work within or quickly adapt to PLX and Google internal analytics platforms.
- Practical understanding of data modeling, reporting architecture, ETL/ELT concepts, workflows, and BI delivery.
- Good understanding of business analytics and ability to align technical design with stakeholder outcomes.
- Ability to guide developers, review outputs, enforce quality, and troubleshoot complex issues.
- Exposure to BigQuery, Looker, Vertex, or GCP tools is useful but secondary to PLX-first delivery capability.
- Strong documentation, communication, and technical leadership skills.
Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum 7.5 years of experience in analytics solution development, SQL development, BI engineering, reporting automation, or related roles.
- This position is based at our Bengaluru office.
- A 15 years full time education is required.
