Position Summary
SwitchON Foundation is looking for a results-driven Solar Sales Manager to lead regional sales and distribution operations across North Bengal. This role is focused on building strong distribution channels, executing grassroots-level promotional strategies, and driving market expansion for solar products.
The position requires extensive field engagement, relationship building with dealers and partners, and hands-on execution of sales and branding activities. The ideal candidate should possess strong convincing and communication skills, practical sales experience, and the ability to independently manage regional operations.
A candidate with a bike is preferred due to extensive travel requirements across Jalpaiguri, Darjeeling, and Kalimpong.
Key Responsibilities
- Distribution & Channel Development
- Finalise one regional stockist and appoint district-level dealers/distributors through formal MOUs and vendor agreements.
- Coordinate with vendors and partners to ensure smooth product availability and sales execution.
- Sales Planning & Promotion
- Prepare a detailed local promotion plan covering village demonstrations, shop-based promotions, events, and solar bazaars.
- Develop budgets and activity timelines for regional sales initiatives.
- Review and finalise marketing materials including posters, leaflets, banners, and standees.
- Finalise sales tools such as product catalogues, price lists, offers, sales packages, and after-sales processes.
- Market Development & Field Engagement
- Conduct regular field visits to villages, tea gardens, markets, and institutions to understand customer demand and market dynamics.
- Identify and list key customer segments including households, tea garden workers, shops, and institutions.
- Identify key strategic locations for branding and visibility.
- Support branding at sales points through shop boards, posters, and banners.
- Partner Engagement & Sales Support
- Meet and interact with channel partners and other local partners.
- Brief sales partners on product features, pricing, and promotional strategies.
- Handle customer enquiries and manage follow-ups.
- Support partners in closing initial and follow-up sales.
- Monitoring & Reporting
- Maintain basic sales, enquiry, and customer records.
- Prepare local promotional content including WhatsApp messages, photos, and short videos.
- Regularly review sales progress and assess promotion impact.
Qualifications
- Mandatory
- 5–6 years of experience in sales, preferably in field-based roles.
- Strong ability to build and manage distribution networks.
- Willingness to travel extensively across North Bengal.
- Education
- Graduate / Master’s / MBA in Marketing or Finance.
- Language
- Good communication skills in English.
- Hindi, Nepali and Bengali preferred.
- Other Requirements
- Strong convincing and negotiation skills.
- Field-oriented, proactive, and target-driven mindset.
- Basic computer knowledge for reporting and coordination.
- Own bike preferred for field mobility.
Compensation
Monthly remuneration of ₹45,000 – ₹50,000, based on experience and performance.

Senior DGM
Travel Requirements
Extensive travel across Jalpaiguri, Darjeeling, and Kalimpong districts is required.
