Job description
About the Role
This role spans two organisations at different stages with distinct talent profiles. Emdee is a large scale, established system integrator in the government IT sector with an ageing workforce. Zuneko is a fast-growing tech startup expanding faster than its current hiring infrastructure can support. The mandate is to own talent acquisition and people operations across both, building systems and processes suited to each context while managing day-to-day HR simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition
- Own end-to-end hiring across both organisations: sourcing, screening, coordination, offers, follow-ups, and onboarding
- For Emdee, develop a sourcing methodology suited to the government IT labour market where the right profiles are typically experienced practitioners with low digital presence who are rarely active jobseekers; this requires proactive mapping, research, and direct outreach into system integrators, IT OEMs, and government-focused IT services firms
- For Zuneko, build and institutionalise a hiring pipeline that runs consistently and at scale, reducing dependence on founder bandwidth and moving away from reactive, project-triggered hiring
- Improve offer-to-joining conversion through structured candidate engagement and follow-up between offer acceptance and date of joining
- Manage and coordinate external hiring champions and technical screeners; build a roadmap to progressively transition these functions to internal seniors
- Drive LinkedIn sourcing and outreach; develop employer brand presence to improve inbound pipeline quality over time
Talent Management
- For Emdee, identify workforce capability gaps relative to where the business is headed and design structured development and transition plans that build on the organisation's existing strengths and institutional depth
- For Zuneko, build people management infrastructure appropriate for a fast-growing, high-expectation team: growth frameworks, structured feedback cadences, performance conversations, and recognition systems
- Design and implement appraisal and performance tracking frameworks across both organisations
- Collaborate with leadership on workforce planning as both organisations scale
HR Operations
- Lay down foundational HR infrastructure across both organisations: employment documentation, SOPs, onboarding and exit processes, and leave and attendance management
- Contribute to the Frappe HRMS rollout at Emdee, ensuring HR processes are designed to translate cleanly into the system
- Manage payroll coordination, compliance, and statutory requirements (PF, ESI, PT, and related)
- Handle employee relations, grievance management, and policy communication
- Maintain HR records and reporting with consistency and accuracy
What We're Looking For
- 4 to 8 years of experience in HR, talent acquisition, or people operations with exposure to both established and early-stage organisational environments
- Demonstrated ability to source and close niche, experience-heavy roles where candidates are not actively looking
- Experience building hiring pipelines and HR systems from the ground up rather than maintaining inherited processes
- Strong understanding of people retention and engagement in high-growth tech environments
- Comfortable operating in ambiguous environments and building structure under operational pressure
- Familiarity with HRMS tools and willingness to contribute to an ERP implementation process
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to operate credibly across two very different organisational cultures simultaneously
Good to have
- Prior experience hiring for government-sector or B2G companies
- Exposure to employer branding or structured candidate engagement programmes
- Experience managing HR across multiple entities or business units
Pay: ₹500,000.00 - ₹800,000.00 per year
Benefits:
- Paid sick time
- Paid time off
- Provident Fund
Work Location: In person
