Accountabilities / Responsibilities
1. Operate and set up CNC Vertical Turning Lathe (VTL) machines for machining of components as per drawings.
2. Maintain machining accuracies and surface finishes within prescribed tolerances.
3. Interpret and understand engineering drawings, process sheets, and work instructions. 4. Select and install appropriate cutting tools, holders, and inserts required for machining. 5. Perform program loading, offset setting, tool wear adjustment, and cycle time monitoring.
6. Carry out in-process inspection using instruments like Vernier, Micrometer, Bore Gauge, Dial Indicator, and Height Gauge.
7. Ensure proper clamping, centering, and alignment of workpieces.
8. Monitor machine performance and take corrective actions in case of deviations.
9. Identify and troubleshoot machining issues such as tool wear, chatter, dimensional variations, and surface defects.
10. Follow safety standards and use lifting devices/cranes for loading and unloading heavy parts.
11. Perform routine cleaning, coolant refilling, and minor maintenance of CNC machines.
12. Maintain daily production records and coordinate with supervisors/QC for quality approval
Qualifications / Requirements / Minimum Experience
1. ITI (Turner / Machinist) or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
2. Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in CNC VTL operation
3. Knowledge of CNC controls (Siemens) and basic program editing.
4. Must be proficient in the usage of precision measuring instruments (Vernier, Micrometer, Bore Gauge, Dial Indicator, etc.).
5. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T symbols.
6. Must be able to operate cranes or other lifting devices safely.
7. Willingness to work in shifts and follow production schedules.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹26,000.00 per month
